Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT)
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that involves delivery of shock waves to injured soft tissue to reduce pain and promote healing.
Shock waves are high energy sound waves produced under water with a high voltage explosion and evaporation. The delivery of shock waves on soft tissue induce neovascularisation and the release of growth factors which helps to improve blood circulation and to increase cell proliferation. This ultimately leads to tissue regeneration of tendons and bones for tissue repair.
At MoveFree physiotherapy, we offer both radial and focused shock wave therapy.
